If you can’t laugh at yourself, how will you deal with that tongue in your cheek?

Connie in persona

Connie is a poet, author, comedienne, and would be a femme fatale, which Wikipedia describes as an "archetypal character of literature and art" if only she was inclined to take herself seriously.  Since that's out of the question, we're left with poet, author and comedienne.

She is a Star in the Zona Rosa, a series of writing-and-sisterhood workshops founded by her friend and mentor, the nationally acclaimed author Rosemary Daniell, and a member of Rosemary's Atlanta Zona Rosa Alpha Babes group.

Connie holds both an M.F.A. in poetry and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in literature and women’s studies, and her most recent work appears in
Desire: Women Write About Wanting (Seal Press, November 2007).

Connie in print

Connie's latest novel is Halley's Confidence. Set in Atlanta, it is perfect for every woman who has ever wanted HIM (the Highly Inappropriate Man).  Halley is also perfect for a publisher seeking a comedic novel for smart women everywhere.

Her poems have appeared in Kalliope, Hurricane Review, Mad Poets Review, Concrete Wolf, The Griffin, Wild Plum and other literary magazines. Her short story, “Coconut Milk,” adapted from her novel manuscript featuring an American heroine’s adventures in Malaysia, has appeared in Pearl magazine.

Dissertation:
Voyages and Voyeurs: A Language of the Interior in the Journals of Anais Nin and Rosemary Daniell

Essay: “Two Cups Orgasm, A Measure of Taboo.” in DesireWomen Write About Wanting  Seal Press, November 2007.
